The training principles and innovations behind the Perfect Pushup and other Perfect Fitness products originated with Alden Mills, a seven year veteran of the US Navy SEALs. While serving as platoon commander of SEAL Team TWO, Alden’s platoon was chosen for a study to determine why SEALs suffered unusually high injury rates. After learning that the injuries were linked to their age-old training methods, SEAL trainers switched to Functional Training. Alden learned firsthand how to incorporate these lessons into exercise routines that have become the foundation of techniques used at Perfect Fitness.

Alden later graduated from Carnegie Mellon University’s Business School and became a National Academy of Sports Medicine certified professional trainer. Alden’s belief of using exercise as a key to gaining control of your life is the cornerstone of the company’s philosophy.

In 2002 Alden met Mark Friedman, a former college athlete and entrepreneurial business executive. Mark is active in the Young Presidents’ Organization, USC’s Marshall School of Business and community organizations in Southern California. The two founded the company that launched the BodyRev Fitness System in 2004 and the Perfect Pushup in 2006.
